Dream

Hey guys!
This is my final for Experimental Animation and I'm so sad!  The best class ever has ended.
It was seriously the funnest class for me and my may have begun to develop a new visual style for myself, and that makes me happy...

I'm sooo happy with this.  I am definitely going to work with this visual style in the future.
Also the music is from Here Comes the Sun by Yuna  (I seem to be quite inspired by this woman)

I think I am going to give my character Netravati, shorter hair, still wavy/curly, but short.
I will try to work with the 2nd from the left head and face.  I like thick eyebrows, I think it is cute.  I have to be careful not to make her look like a little boy though!

CTN WAS AMAZING!

This weekend I went to the Creative Talent Network for the first time ever and I couldn't be more pleased.  All of the workshops, and the people, and the knowledge! It was almost overwhelming.  I literally cried tears of joy on Friday after meeting Floyd Norman and Ron Husband.  It was so amazing.  I was also blessed to meet and talk to Ted Ty and Dattaraj Karmat just to name a few.
The inspiration was abundant, even in the young professionals and recent graduates still unemployed were inspiring.  My mind is blown.  I feel so lucky to be entering such a talented and humble industry.  The perks far out weigh the sort comings.

Mushy stuff aside, I did a few figure drawings while there, I also drew a few of the speakers.

Eric Goldberg

I left CTN feeling really inspired and more knowledgeable for/about animation and I hope to implement  as much as I can into my senior film.  Now one of my goals to have the honor to hold a lecture and possibly inspire some kid the way they all inspired me.
I may post a follow up blog in a few days, so busy but so much to say!

Doot Doot Neko Dance

This is a collaboration with Yssa.  We are in Experimental Animation together and did this pixilation piece. The song is the MitchiriNeko March
It was so fun!

We both edited about 30 seconds worth of photos together in adobe premiere. I did the middle section and Yssa did the beginning and end.

Netravati & Missy

It's been a while since I posted about my camel short! Netravati is the name of the girl.  It means "beautiful eyed" in Hindi.  I haven't officially named the camel, but my personal nickname for it is Missy.

Adventure

I'm really lovin' this Experimental Animation class!
The elephant returns! This time as a man-elephant!

This is done with salt and 2 hair combs (1 fine tooth and 1 wide tooth)
I used salt to simulate sand, because I don't have access to sand.
The end is a bit rushed... but I enjoy it overall.

The Call

This is a response to the other little animation with the boy and the elephant.  I really enjoyed doing this!

This was done with Dragon Frame.  I am in love with this program, the onion skin works well and the tools to make lines and arcs are very helpful~

I'm starting to really like this paper cut out stuff! We'll how far I can take this as the semester goes on.

In the Sky (1st paper cutout animation)

This my first paper cutout animation!  I really enjoyed doing this.  There are a few timing, weight, and phrasing issues, but I still like it a lot~
The patterns on the paper are my favorite part

In case it's not clear, the boy is taking a ray of sunshine and then at night, he throws it in the sky and the light makes stars.

1st Stopmotion!

This is my first ever stop motion and I'm really excited!
I will be posting a lot of stuff other the next few months, and a lot of it will be new methods and things I have never tried before~

I will try to pay more attention to my spacing and such as time goes on.  It is really hard to things when I don't have arcs in the background! Also I used FlipBook, which isn't the best for stopmotion and it ruined the color.  I was saddened when I couldn't see the designs and patterns on my pins :(

Senior Film Soon to Come!

Ok, so I graduate from CCA 2014 and the time has come to work on my senior film.  I don't have a working title yet, but I will be making an animation about a sassy camel and young girl and their connection with each other.
I'm still really early in the design process, but here are some of my concepts so far.

I decided to focus on the camel first because I have less history drawing, or even looking at camels than I do with drawing humans/little girls. I also find that drawing camels with a brush pen has marvelous results...

As of now, the finished film will be about 60 seconds long and I plan to use all of my skills and make a great little animation.

I think next time I'll use a slower stride and put it on 1's, but I like this~

This is what I've been working on in After Effects.  Now that's it's rendered I'm seeing issues hidden in the lag of slow computer processor, but I'm proud of it any way~
Maybe one day with a better computer, and more animation experience I'll finish the song and polish what I got so far.

Btw, this song is "live your life" by Yuna.  She is a great Artist from Malaysia

This sunday I'll have another test animation to post!

Too busy to post this week

I haven't been able to finish enough of what I started for this week.  It's kinda of long, so I'll just post it as a some what finished whole.
It's a music video so I hope it's at least entertaining~

Ok! so, I made some changes to the sad excuse of a test you guys saw last week

I'm still working on some timings, especially at the end.
Next week, I'll be re-figuring out a few poses, and have more breakdowns, and few inbetweens (like on the run and the kick)

I'm excited to finish this within the next 2 or so weeks!

This week's animation

I'm working on a short scene, only 10 seconds.
It's a girl fighting a Large Body from Kingdom Hearts.  by next week I'll have more of him blocked in
also i mite be cutting out an action to other places more breathing room.  Everything is really fast right now.

The first has more hips, going for a more feminine walk, the middle has more shoulder action and the 3rd has a bit more up and down and less hip movement.
